Honoring My People With a Crown!

Summer in the mountains means it’s time for my People-Flowers Series. This collection combines the beauty of the people I love with the natural magic of hand-gathered flowers. It’s my way of capturing the abundance and love that flows around us daily.

This year, I’ve shifted from bouquets to creating Flower Crowns—a tribute to the amazing individuals who inspire me. Using only flowers I’ve personally gathered, these crowns serve as a reminder of the beauty that’s right outside our doors. For this particular crown, I picked blooms from Doc PJ’s yard and crafted something truly special.

The crown was built on an Aspen branch base, with wildflowers woven into it. I wanted one big, beautiful focal point—and when I spotted that vibrant oriental poppy practically yelling, “Pick me, pick me,” I just couldn’t resist.

I’m excited to share this Flower-Power Crown, modeled by three of my favorite people.
