A Feast for the Eyes: Flower Salad
Using flowers, fruits, veggies, and herbs in arrangements can add an unexpected and whimsical touch to your decor. Displayed on a beautiful cake plate, these arrangements are like a "flower salad" for the senses. I've created several versions using an assortment of ingredients like purple kale, rosemary, pepperberry, pomegranate, apples, and roses. Each arrangement brings its own unique style—take a look at the different setups and let me know which one you like best!
Exhibit A: Whole Pomegranate & Grape Delight
This arrangement combines whole pomegranates with clusters of grapes, surrounded by the vibrant green of purple kale and rosemary. It’s a rich, textural display that’s both rustic and elegant.
Exhibit B: Pomegranate, Apple, and Roses, Oh My!
A mix of apples, pomegranate and romantic roses creates a more colorful, lively look. The bright fruit add pops of color, while the roses introduce softness and a lovely floral fragrance to the arrangement.
Exhibit C: Green Apple Lonestar
Here, the bright green of a single apple takes center stage against a backdrop of rich, leafy greens and pops of colorful florals.
Exhibit D: Fruit-Flower-Cluster-Power
In this design, clusters of fruits and blooms are closely nestled together, giving a dense, abundant feel. Pepperberries and smaller flowers fill in the gaps, creating a cohesive and powerful visual impact.
Each arrangement brings its own personality to the table. These "flower salads" are a great way to experiment with textures, colors, and flavors in floral design.
