How to make a beautiful bouquet with grocery store flowers

Building a Beautiful Bouquet: A Simple Guide

Creating a full, bountiful bouquet is easy when you use four flower shapes: Line, Filler, Focal, and Accents. Here’s how each one works to make a balanced and eye-catching arrangement.

1. Line Flowers: These tall, linear flowers set the height and width of your arrangement, creating structure.

2. Filler Flowers: Filler flowers add volume, often growing in clusters along a single stem, and help fill out the arrangement.

3. Focal Flowers: These large, round flowers naturally draw the eye. They give your arrangement a focal point.

4. Accents: Small blooms, berries, or pods add movement, texture, and detail to the design.

For this arrangement, I bought 3 bunches from my local grocery store.

  • Stock Flowers as my Line flower

  • Alstroemeria for the Filler Flowers

  • Gerbera Daisy as the Focal flower

  • All in the same color scheme to keep the look cohesive. For the Accents, I used small blooms from my yard for extra texture and movement.

You can easily create a beautiful, balanced bouquet with these simple flower shapes!

Step One: Line Flower

Line Flowers: Line Flowers are tall, linear flowers or greens set the height and width of your arrangement, creating structure.

Step Two: Filler Flower

Filler Flowers: Filler flowers add volume, often growing in clusters along a single stem, and help fill out the arrangement.

Step Three: Focal Flowers

Focal Flowers: These large, round flowers naturally draw the eye. They give your arrangement a focal point.

Step Four: Accents

Accents: Small blooms, berries, or pods add movement, texture, and detail to the design.

For this arrangement, I used a footed vase to add some extra height, but mason jars or water pitchers work beautifully too. Just remember, the wider the vase opening, the more flowers you’ll need to fill it out. Adding filler greens is a great way to create fullness if needed. I’ve found that a standard grocery store bouquet fits perfectly in a mason jar!
