From Neglect to Abundance: Garden Roses
When we bought our little fixer-upper house, the yard was an overgrown mess. While tackling the cleanup, we stumbled upon a small rose bush tucked away next to the fence, long neglected and forgotten. I pruned it back and thought little of it until that spring when, to my surprise, it burst forth with the most incredible flowers I had ever seen. Huge blooms with a rich, bountiful scent filled the air—just one flower could perfume an entire room!
Fast forward to today, and that same rose bush continues to amaze me with its show-stopping blooms. Right now, it’s in full swing, so I couldn’t resist cutting a few for an arrangement, along with some other lovely blooms from the yard.
This week, I invite you to pause and smell the roses. Step outside, take a moment to look around, and gather some clippings from your own yard—whether it’s branches, florals, or greens. Bring the lush beauty of spring indoors and let it serve as a reminder of the present moment. Take a moment to appreciate your life’s bounty and cultivate gratitude.
